In the 18th year of Kanei (1641), a sacred cave was discovered during shrine grounds maintenance, and the emergence of a golden divine statue from it led to the name "Ana Hachimangu." This miracle reached the ears of Shogun Tokugawa Iemitsu, and the shrine flourished as the general protector of the area north of Edo Castle. Today, it is known for its "Ichiyo Raifuku" amulets and is visited by many worshippers as a shrine for financial fortune and good luck.
The cool, black-lacquered main shrine building adorned with gold decorations radiates majesty as a deity of financial fortune.
Following the example of worshippers who touch the belly and hands of the Hotei statue enshrined on the grounds, we actually touch it to pray for its blessings.
Walking further, in a quiet, deserted place stands the "Monument to the Historic Site of Horibe Taketsune's Assistance in Combat." This monument, built with the involvement of eminent figures like Saionji Kinmochi and Okuma Shigenobu, is the very proof indicating the site of the "Duel of Takadanobaba" that broke out in 1694.

3. "Unexpected Success" Attracted by Courage and an Altruistic Spirit
It was Nakayama Yasubei (later Horibe Yasubei), a 23 or 24-year-old ronin from Shibata in Echigo at the time, who joined the fight to assist his uncle-in-law who was at a disadvantage in this duel, and claimed victory.
In response to his uncle's predicament, Yasubei immediately offered, "No matter how many enemies there are, I will run around and strike them down alone, and I will not trouble you."
This success story of his truly embodies the Law of the Universe: "Success flies in from unexpected places." He did not plan the correct answer of serving the Ako domain from the beginning. Facing the crisis right in front of him, he jumped in giving it a try with nothing to lose, using the abilities he currently possessed.
That youthful courage and decisiveness, along with the generosity to act for others, ultimately grasped the unexpected opportunity of being headhunted by the Ako domain samurai, Horibe Kanamaru. And later, he would carve his name in history as "Horibe Yasubei, one of the righteous samurai of Ako."
The way of life as an investor or business owner shares exactly the same structure.
