【The Gallic Wars of the Reiwa Era】What Scriptwriting Looks Like in the Age of AI: Seniors Taking on the Frontlines of Digital Asset Creation
▪Introduction: Why Record a War Chronicle Now?
"Commentaries on the Gallic War" (Commentarii de Bello Gallico). This is the war record written by Julius Caesar himself, the hero of ancient Rome.
It was not written retrospectively by a historian. It was a "primary source report" sent directly to the Senate by the commander leading the war. Its style is known as a masterpiece of Latin literature—concise yet elegant.
The war we are fighting today involves no bloodshed. It is a battle to coexist with the unknown force called "AI" and to conquer the territory known as Financial Independence (FIRE).

I am fully aware that my writing skills fall far short of the original Caesar's. However, as a senior taking on the challenge, I wish to convey the process of pioneering the new territory of "Manga" using Generative AI. Like Caesar, I will report this as a truthful, primary source directly to you, my readers.
Do not be a spectator. Be a participant. Now, let us begin.

▪ The Roadmap of AI Manga Creation
First, for those of you intending to challenge AI manga creation, let me present the overall battle plan (Roadmap). Rest assured, this is my first attempt as well.
[Project Cheetah: Progress Chart]
• Phase 1: Concept ✅ Complete
❶Overall Vision: Adapting my book "The Recommendation of FIRE" into manga format.
❷Target Audience: Exhausted salaried employees.
• Phase 2: Design ✅ Complete
❶ Character Settings (Design and personality of "Cheetah").
❷ Story Structure (Script for the first 3 episodes).
• Phase 3: Production (Input & Generation) 👈 Current Stage
❶ Input characters and story into tools (like Canva).
❷ Have AI generate images and arrange the panels.
• Phase 4: Edit
Fine-tuning dialogue, correcting images.
• Phase 5: Output
Publish on Blog, SNS, Kindle, etc.
"Concept" and "Design" can be done with armchair theory. However, the "Production" phase we are entering now is the battlefield where the true power of the AI weapon will be tested.
▪Conditions: Directives to the Staff Officer
The Staff Officer (Secretary) I chose for this operation is Google's Generative AI, "Gemini." To use a Caesarian analogy, he corresponds to Aulus Hirtius, the loyal aide who continued writing Book 8 of the Gallic Wars.
Here are the "Directives (Prompts)" I gave to my excellent officer:
[Basic Directive]
• Read my book "The Recommendation of FIRE" thoroughly and completely understand the Philosophy (Doctrine) flowing through it.
[Worldview and Casting]
• Worldview: To satirize modern society, characters will be "Animals."
• Story: A tale of a salaried employee exhausted by corporate life who learns asset formation and achieves economic freedom.
[Cast (Characters)]
• Protagonist (Cheetah): A fat cheetah.
• Details: Originally possessing the speed (talent) to be the fastest in the savanna, he has been tamed in the "cage" of the company and is a sad beast who has forgotten how to run.
• Mentor: The Wise Owl of the Forest (Symbol of Wisdom).
• Supporting Roles: Boss, colleagues, real estate agents, IFAs, etc. (Animal species left to AI's discretion).
▪Work Process: Can AI Become an "Editor"?
The actual work was surprisingly smooth. It felt close to—perhaps even better than—the interactions I had with human editors when I published my physical books.
1. I give broad instructions.
2. AI proposes multiple drafts: "How about this development?"
3. I provide feedback: "This is wrong. Make it grittier."
4. AI immediately corrects it and submits a more refined script.
By simply repeating this rally, the scripts for Episodes 1 through 3 were completed in no time. It was not solitary work. There was a definitive "Dialogue" taking place.
▪War Report on AI (Impressions)
Here are my unembellished impressions after actually using my Staff Officer (Gemini).
• Speed is Abnormally Fast: It returns in 3 seconds what a human would agonize over for 3 days. If anything, my own thinking couldn't keep up. There were moments I had to say "Wait" to organize my thoughts.
• "Dialogue" is Possible: It is not a mechanical reaction. I was surprised by its context-aware responses, such as, "Then, I will correct it to reflect the President's intention like this."
• Specificity is Key: When I provided specific episodes (Primary Information), such as "The atmosphere of the Asian office where I used to work," the resolution of the story increased dramatically.
• The Officer Grows: With every conversation, it begins to understand my thought patterns and doctrine, eventually moving in perfect sync with me.
▪Conclusion: The One Who Becomes Caesar is "You"
Through this scriptwriting process, I reached one truth.
"AI does the 'Labor.' Humans give the 'Directives (Philosophy).'"
If this relationship can be established, the senior generation is invincible. Conversely, no matter how high-performance the AI is, if the human commander lacks "Unique Philosophy (Doctrine)" or "Investment Experience," the AI cannot move a single step.
People who lament, "I don't know what to make it write," do not lack knowledge of how to use AI. They lack a "Philosophy they want to convey" within themselves.
Without Generative AI, I could not have created the story at this speed. But without my Doctrine, no soul would dwell in Cheetah.
The weapons (AI) are ready. The rest depends on whether you have the resolve to cross the Rubicon. (Text by Julius)
